This piece is 17inx11in. I used graphite to sketch the women since I wanted the freedom to sketch with my pencil so the piece came out naturally. My intention with this piece was to practice different character designs so I could have variety in looks between my primary pieces, but through this piece, I discovered that I had to do a foot study eventually.
This piece is 17inx11in. I used graphite to have the freedom and flow to practice character design. My intension in this piece was to practice portraying an emotion or feeling through pose and facial expression as a practice for my first piece.
This piece is 11inx8.5in. I used graphite so I could erase and continue to correct my poses as I continued to practice more fluid poses. My intention with this piece was to practice more fluid poses to express movement in my pieces, so that my primary pieces didn't seem stiff.

Like my previous sketch, I wanted to practice different poses, but I also wanted to practice female anatomy, since my inquiry question focused primarily on women and feminity.

In this piece, I practice human anatomy from the back, and I also added some watercolor to add a splash of color to the berries, which I drew because I wanted to practice sketching plant life.

This piece is 200x600px, and is drawn digitally. This piece was originally supposed to be a tattoo flash practice, simply to challenge myself in flower anatomy. However, this practice aided me in my final piece, where I had to illustrate a few flowers.
This piece is 400px x 240px, and was done digitally. This piece was practice to see how I could use contrasting colors against a more muted background. In this piece, I also had to mute the colors of the trees as they faded into the background.
This piece is 17inx11in, it's done in graphite, and I'm practicing the anatomy of a skeleton. This was an interesting experiment since it taught me how the human body moves and can position itself, and was a helpful tool to use for poses in my pieces.
